Ordre de la Couronne

Another Congolese order adopted by Belgium, this was created in 1897 by Léopold II. It is awarded for long service to the country or for distinguished scientific, literary or artistic service or for services to commerce and industry. Palms and stars can be awarded. There are various grades of the order, with sashes, breast stars, etc. (see Order of Léopold).
