Croix du Combattant

After WW1, various veterans' associations and politicians wanted to create some form of award to recognise those who had actually participated in combat. Eight years after the Armistice, by the law of 19 December 1926, all personnel who had been in combat were awarded the "Carte du Combattant". The law of 28 June 1930 created this Cross, to which all holders of that Card were entitled.
