Military Cross

This has the Shaba clasp, awarded for participation in campaigns in the Shaba region (also known as Katanga). The region has a very troubled history and many foreign troops (principally from Belgium - it's a former Belgian colony - and France) have assisted the government forces. It also sports the Foreign Legion Palm.
